Salon-M’s top tips for fine hair…
Thin hair doesn’t have to look and feel lifeless! Follow our simple top tips to create the illusion of having thicker hair…
1. Go Chic
Get a blunt or one-length haircut at our Wallasey Hair Salon to make hair look fuller and thicker at the ends.
2. Stay Short(ish)!
Try not to grow your hair too long. The longer it gets, the stringier it appears!
3. Conditioner Is Your Friend!
Apply conditioner to the ends of your hair, not the roots. This prevents your hair from becoming weighed down. Conditioner will actually help prevent the split ends and breakage that can make fine hair look thinner!
Thicker, fuller hair is yours with some of these fantastic products at Salon-M…
We highly recommend Framasi by Paul Mitchell volumizing shampoo and leave in conditioner, Moroccan Oil heat Styling protection, Evo’s Root Canal root spray, Shape Vixen styling gel and Haze oomph powder – which are available to buy now at our Wirral Salon.
Framesi Volumizing shampoo – Protects cosmetic color and gives body to hair lacking in volume, adding fullness and gloss. Based on barley extract.
Framesi Double treat volumizing conditioner – Softens and hydtrates fine hair protecting cosmetic color. Does not weigh the hair down and eliminates static electricity. Barley extract base with a pool of anti-oxidising, bio-technological enzymes.
Moroccan Oil Heat Styling Protection – The innovative formula veils hair in a superior film to protect against thermal damage. Nourishing heat protection strengthens hair as it imparts soft hold and shine.
Evo Root Canal base support spray – The proverbial coffee in your morning; a better pick-me-up than hitch-hiking naked; the difference between beta and vhs; a swimming pool of bells beach… help from the roots up. Medium hold and healthy shine with a big haymaker of punch, root canal will give you more volume than a van de graff generator and more lift than a lifetime’s supply of Fijian volcanic mineral water… put the satisfaction back into your quick glance sideways.
Evo Shape Vixen body giving juice – Shape vixen or “the essential” as it is know in the profession, is the mr wolf of styling issues; the complete total of all sums; the beginning of all ends; sunrise, sunset and the full moon all in one… somewhat eerie really. If you want and know your look, shape vixen is the tool to make it happen. Use it to define, control and hold your curls; use it for blow-drying to add massive volume; use it for separation and texture; use it for a casual slick back; use it to make friends; use it.
Evo Haze styling powder – If you’ve just washed your hair and you’re dreading the next three days of baby-haired-mopville, then a little of this styling powder will go a long way. This old school powder will give your hair some bulky texture to play with when it’s suffering from the flop. Think ‘voluminous birds nest’, but in a good way.
Styling ideas for fine hair from Salon-M…
– A great hairstyle for those with fine hair to opt for, is one that is longer in the front and shorter in the back, as this style frames the face and creates fullness at the back of the head.
– A relatively short cut is often best for women with limp or fine hair, as length will weigh it down (baring in mind that your face shape has to be a part of the overall decision).
– If you are hoping to have fuller looking hair at home, then it is also a good idea to use our recommended volumising shampoo, conditioner, and styling products before blow-drying.
– If you blow-dry your hair upside down, it can add serious volume to even the thinnest hair!!
– Hair worn forward and to the side over your forehead can cover up thinning or receding hairlines and make it look fuller.
– Another great trick is to change your parting every few days. This way, less scalp is seen and you also have different ways to style your hair.
Hair Colour for fine hair…
Colour can be a great advantage to fine hair, we recommend not colouring the hair too light as the lighter it goes the finer it will look, multi tonal lowlights can be a great way to add depth to you hair and make it appear thicker.
Our experts will give you a full consultation and give you great advice on how to make your hair look it’s best, colour can also be great to add a bit of body too.
